bub has always been the sweetest, most curious, and a little bit sensitive baby —
he was never down to be passed from person to person. he loves people, but mostly from a distance. he loves to use his voice, but does not like unexpected loud noises. mama being out of sight or even out of reach? absolutely not. all the better if we’re in contact constantly. i call him my rotisserie chicken (just rotating and rotating in my arms) because he’s so active and curious, but unless we’re in a familiar setting he doesn’t want to actually be put down. donald and i joke that bub would love it if mama and dada could fuse into one person cause he regularly hot potatoes between us when he misses the other. if we have friends over he’ll smile and play a little bit from the safety of my lap, but you can tell he feels so much more comfortable once company leaves and it’s the three of us again.
we’ve done a few out of the norm things of late and i’ve noticed a shift in our little guy — bravely crawling around a new place, trying to make friends with an older kid, enjoying riding in the cart seat at the store, staying calm in chaotic environments. seemingly small moments that definitely wouldn’t have happened even a few weeks ago.
and all i can think is watching your little one grow bigger and seeing their face change is wild, but watching them grow in confidence is truly the best. i didn’t really know what to expect from parenthood, but this is my favorite part yet.

their closest family gathered on a beautiful fall morning to witness their union among the trees. bianca and jeff sealed it with a kiss, showed of the rings with pride and toasted with champagne. it was an effortlessly romantic and simply perfect celebration of living in the moment with your dearest people.
